RAPTURE: The Death Play
Written by Lauren Reinhard
Directed by Christophe Anderson

From writer/director Lauren Reinhard comes an exciting new project developed with support from the Rapscallion Theatre Collective. RAPTURE: The Death Play is the first installment in a series of plays written surrounding the ideology of the Seven Holy Sacraments. The Sacrament Plays are seven plays in total, one play devoted to each of the Sacraments. The cannon as a whole take the Sacraments, the seven most important things a person does in their life, and boils them down to one single second: the seven most important seconds in one persons life. RAPTURE: The Death Play starts our journey at the ending point, exploring what a life comes down to at the very end, and ultimately what tears it apart. The Sacrament Plays will be developed over the course of the next five years, so check out each installment to see what we're up to and what moment we're disecting next, up first: death...dismembered.

A poetic non-linear narrative of two teens, a trestle and a decision that changes the world that surrounds them.

A sobering look at one's worth when they are on the verge of having nothing and going nowhere. As two teens, Pace and Dalton, are trying to out-run a train and the future they know is quickly approaching.... one moment changes everything. An in-depth look into the Great Depression-era, that has an eerie echoing effect mirroring these modern times. This play begs the questions: What is a father to do when society tells him he is worthless? What is a mother to do when she is desperately trying to hold her family together? What are children to do when they look toward tomorrow and it is nowhere in sight? The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek.
